Asset Organization

Organizing assets more effectively in WorthIT

Every company has their own unique way of organizing their assets. In WorthIT, we built a flexible, configurable system that will enable your organization to continue structuring your assets how you need to.

Options for asset organization

There are multiple options for organizing your assets.

Parent ID

Any asset can be assigned as a Parent ID, creating a hierarchical structure with your asset book that can be reflected in reports. One common example of using this would be a building. Buildings include many components and assets within. These assets are separate assets, but at times may need to be grouped together for reporting purposes. The Parent ID feature enables this.

Lease ID

Oftentimes, leases may be issued for a series of assets, such as computers or office furniture. In this case, you can add a Lease ID to your asset. Again, this will enable grouping and filtering in lists and reports.

Note

Leases are not managed directly within WorthIT Fixed Assets. The Lease ID field is just a text field, so you are responsible for ensuring your IDs match up. Stay tuned for our soon-to-come WorthIT Lease and Loan Analyzer application.

Tags/Folders

This feature has its own section in the documentation. Tags (multiple) can be added to an asset to add another layer of organization that is highly flexible.

Custom User Codes

WorthIT includes 3 custom user code fields (User Code 1, User Code 2, User Code 3) which can be renamed according to your requirements. This adds a level of customization in case you need additional descriptor options. These data fields can represent anything you need, and can be re-named in the "Field Preferences" on the Settings page.
