Setting up your segments

WorthIT Fixed Assets provides the ability to create segments which will enable you to assign assets to a particular operating component of your organization. This can be used for filtering in your reports or for journal vouchers that get created. These segments are configurable (up to 10 segment types; unlimited segments within). You can customize the names of the segment types and add the segments within them.

In the example below, we have a segment type called "Division" which we are adding a segment to.

Segment form fields

Key: A numerical ID for your segment. Key Description: A textual name for your segment.

Using segments

Once you've added a segment, you can use it to categorize your assets. In the screenshot below, we have assigned our asset to our Division "WorthIT Software".

You can now use it as a filter option in your assets screen, or on your reports.
